I am an educational technology (EdTech) and learning science researcher. I am currently working with UNESCO's category-1 educational research institute, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNESCO MGIEP), in New Delhi. At UNESCO, I head Information Technology and EdTech research and development as a National Information Technology Officer. My research at UNESCO encompasses developing and evaluating an artificial intelligence (AI) based online learning platform to help learners improve their social-emotional skills. I am also leading the project on ethics in AI-in-Education (AIED) and examining if ethics can be built into an AIED system, its challenges, and possible way-outs. Additionally, I am studying the effects of social and emotional learning on individuals' learning processes of topics such as "Climate Change" and "Global Citizenship."

After completing my Ph.D. from the Educational Technology, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), Mumbai, I worked with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vanderbilt University, as a postdoctoral research fellow for two years. After that, I worked with the EdTech research group at IIT Bombay as a research scientist for one year.

My research interests lie in learning science, educational technology, computing education research, authentic learning, scientific temper, and the development of technology-enhanced learning environments. Specifically, I am interested in using blends of exploratory qualitative research methodology with learning analytics to inquire into:

Key Areas of Research: Educational Technology, Learning & Cognition, Learning Science, Multi-modal Learning Analytics, Authentic Learning, Development of Scientific Temperament.
